Each 1ml of drops contains:

Active Ingredients:

50 mg Elemental iron (As iron III hydroxide polymaltose complex 161,29 mg).

Inactive Ingredients:

Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Sucrose,Caramel Flavour,
Citric acid anhydrous,Purified water.

Pharmacological action:

• Pharmacodynamic properties:
• Pharmacotherapeutic group: anti-anemic agent, anti-iron deficiency agent.
• Iron plays a central role in the metabolism: oxygen is transported by the iron-containing hemoglobin, and the food is converted by iron-containing enzymes.
• Iron deficiency can occur during intensive growth, blood
  donation, occult blood loss and during pregnancy.
• Hydroferrin Oral Drops contains a therapy-approved complex
  of iron and degradation products of starch. This complex
  iron is not comparable to iron salts, gentle on the stomach
  and is used well by the body

Pharmacokinetics:

• Studies with radio labeled drug indicate that the absorption, i.e. the proportion of iron incorporated into hemoglobin is inversely proportional to the dose.
• The amount of iron absorbed depends on the degree of iron deficiency (the greater the iron deficiency, the higher the absorption), Hydroferrin Oral Drops is absorbed in the gastrointestinaltract and excreted via faeces.
• By exfoliation of epithelial cells of the gastrointestinal tract and the skin, as well as perspiration, bile and urine, a total of about 1 mg of iron is excreted daily.

Bioavailability

Indications:

• For the treatment of iron deficiency states.

Posology and method of administration:

• The dosage for infants, toddlers and children are based on 3 mg iron/kg body weight per day.
• 1 to 2 drops (2.5 to 5 mg of iron) per kg Premature bables:

• 10 to 20 drops (25 to 50 mg of iron) per day, divided into 1-2 single doses.
• Equivalent to: 0.5 to 1 mL of Hydrofer-rin oral drops per day, divided into 1-2

• 20 to 40 drops (50 to 100 mg of iron) per day, divided into 1-2 single doses.
