What are Rennie tablets and what are they used for?
The active substances in Rennie tablets – calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate – neutralize stomach acid and relieve symptoms of gastric hyperacidity such as heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux.

You should not take RENNE tablets if you have an intolerance to fructose, refined sugar (fructose intolerance, sucrase-isomaltase enzyme deficiency), or glucose-galactose malabsorption. - Advice for diabetics: One Rennie tablet contains 475 mg of sucrose
When should not take Rennie tablets?
Do not take Rennie tablets if
- You are hypersensitive to calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, or any of the excipients in Rennie tablets.
- You suffer from severe kidney failure
- You have hypercalciuria, hypercalcemia, and/or conditions leading to hypercalcemia (too much calcium in the blood)
- You have been diagnosed with kidney stones (nephrolithiasis)
- You have hypophosphatemia (too little phosphate in the blood)
- When should Rennie tablets be used with caution
- Rennie tablets should not be taken for more than two weeks without consulting a doctor.
- If symptoms persist and/or recur frequently, a doctor should be consulted to determine whether they are due to a serious illness. Rennie tablets should not be taken for long periods of time without a medical note, as long-term use may alter the levels of minerals in the blood.
- If Rennie Tablets are given to people with renal impairment, serum magnesium concentrations should be monitored regularly.
- In such cases, long-term treatment with high doses of this product should be avoided, otherwise, the serum calcium, phosphate, and magnesium concentrations should also be regularly monitored.
- Long-term use should be avoided, especially if you have impaired kidney function or a tendency to form kidney stones.
- Rennie tablets should not be taken along with large amounts of milk or dairy products.
Patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take Rennie tablets because they contain 475 mg sucrose. This should also be borne in mind by diabetics. - Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:

How to take Rennie tablets - The following applies to all indications (see “What are Rennie tablets and what are they used for?”)
- For adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: Chew 1-2 tablets or let them dissolve slowly in your mouth one by one (Rennie tablets are taken without water),
- It is preferable to take this one hour after meals and before going to bed, but it can also be taken between them in cases of heartburn.
- Repeat approximately every two hours as needed. Do not take more than 1 tablet per day.
- Safety has not been systematically tested in children under 1 year of age yet.
- Always take the dose mentioned in this leaflet or that your doctor prescribes for you.
